RANCH HAPPENINGS: We know... we’ve been saying it for months and months, but it's finally almost here — the new ranch freezer is on its way! 🎉 This upgrade is a big one: More space for all your favorites. Better accessibility for in-person shopping. More reliable stock (goodbye, out-of-stock frustration!). We’re praying hard that this helps smooth out the supply hiccups and makes it easier for you to stop by, browse, or even bring a basket inside and shop right at the ranch. Even better? This frees up our freezer trailer, so we can hit the road more often and bring Happy Life meats to more markets near you!

Aside from the highly anticipated freezer upgrade, there’s a lot happening with our four-legged crew!
We’ve recently separated the boys from the girls in our goat and sheep flocks to help with future planning (and a little peace and quiet for everyone). To keep the ladies and babies safe, we’ve got our trusty protectors on duty — Abbott and Costello-the donkeys, plus Gilbert, our charming mini Highland cow. They’re holding it down like pros!
The gals now have a new-to-them shelter and a spacious pasture to roam, rest, and soak up the sunshine. Everyone is loving the warmer weather — and yes, they’re still very into visits, pettings, and of course... snacks. (Because really, who doesn’t love snacks?)
We’re also in the process of fencing in two brand-new pastures — areas that until now have only seen chickens and turkeys. These fresh spaces will allow us to rotate grazing more effectively, helping us stay true to our regenerative ranching goals and give the land a chance to thrive, too.
The animals are happy, healthy, and full of personality — just the way we like it!
It's wild to us that we are able to accomplish so much on such a small patch of land that our home is on! Ohhh if only we had the space for the cows to be here....Melissa, stop digressing
Family Happenings: Our grandson Leo and his momma Victoria came up for a visit so that was a most amazing day! They were only here for a couple short hours but it meant the world to us.
Niko is growing, as a man and a carpenter, by leaps and bounds and just celebrated his 22nd birthday. eek
Nina is off on yet another adventure: she has an internship in Delaware for the summer and she will be fully immersed in the world of marine geology. She has a beautiful place right near the beach and we are just a tiny bit jealous. We will make time to go see her before HER birthday which comes up in August.
NEW CHICKEN HOUSE: Another ranch project that’s been a bit delayed but has been worked ons Ince last month (thanks to unpredictable weather and Niko working full-time!) is the new chicken setup — but it’s coming along! The good news? The new flock of girls has a big, cozy room all to themselves, and they’re settling in beautifully. While they’re still growing, they’ve started laying those adorable little eggs you may have seen on our social media! They may be small, but they’re mighty — same delicious taste, just in a fun-sized shell. To celebrate our petite producers, we’re offering up these little eggs for just $4/dozen while they’re still on the smaller side. They’ll be ready to roam outdoors soon, but in the meantime, they’re laying like champs!
Bundle Boxes: Easier, Simpler, Still Delicious
We’re making some changes to how our bundle boxes work — and we think you’re going to love the simplicity! Starting this month (depending on your pick up/delivery schedule), all subscribed bundle boxes will now feature Rancher’s Choice selections. That means:- No more custom requests for bundle boxes. For those of you who have these right now, we'll be reaching out directly to discuss the changes.
- The website will show exactly what we plan to put in the boxes to help you choose
- Each box includes thoughtfully selected cuts based on availability
- We reserve the right to substitute items as needed to ensure your box is full and fresh
