August is gonna come in hot! We're here for it!
Howdy from Happy Life Ranch! First things first; can we all celebrate the rain we've finally gotten here in the Beecher Area?? All living things here are thrilled about it.

Let's talk about Texas real quick, then we'll get into the Illinois Ranch Happenings.
The herds are growing daily down there. The sun is shining and the animals are grazing! They are also putting some finishing touches on tallow products so if you're a Texas customer, or wanna be, watch for those tallow products coming soon to the website. Check out Happy Life Ranch - Texas Edition on Facebook if you haven't already.
Here's a comment from a brand new subscriber after trying our ground beef at a BBQ "I have been dreaming of the burgers from last weekend all morning"  Hooray!!! She is now a subscribed and happy customer! Keep up the good work down there y'all!
Raffle for Texas Stars Stripes and Steaks was also a big hit! Congratulation to Sebastian, the winner of the $500 bundle box!
🚚 Delivery & Pickup Options in Texas
We’re now offering:
  • Monthly home delivery (check your zip code on our website)
  • Two pickup locations (with two more in the works)

FATHER’S DAY BUNDLE RECAP
Huge thanks to everyone who grabbed a Father’s Day Bundle for the favorite guy in their life! You made a lot of dads (and their grills) very happy.

RANCH HAPPENINGS:
The Freezer Container Saga (yes, again)
A moment of silence for our sanity as we continue to tango with this freezer container. It’s been delivered, taken away for repairs, returned, filled, emptied, half-filled, repaired again... whew. Look, we get it — building one of these things is no small feat. We think we’re at the finish line (but no promises). Next stop? Hopefully a tiny shop near the container. Stay tuned for yet another plot twist.

Ladies, Gilbert, and the Donkeys
Our hardworking crew has rotated into two fresh pastures since last month. The drought was rough, but we
were blessed with untouched grasslands to move them to. So yes — the girls, Gilbert, and the donkeys are fat, happy, and thriving. If you come visit and can’t spot them, try looking across from the big barn doors — or lurking like sneaky escape artists behind the containers where the pigs used to roam. Rotational grazing: tricky, but worth it.

Toby & the Boys
The rams have been rotating in and out of the dog’s yard, which keeps things... interesting. But hey, they haven’t gone without their greens, either. Everyone’s munching happily.

PIGLET WATCH
Okay, we know what you’re really here for — the piglet gossip.
• Strawberry: 7 piglets
• Evva: 7 piglets
• Maybeline: 12 piglets
• Candy: 7 piglets
That’s 33 bacon seeds and counting!
They’re now free to frolic and intermingle between nurseries like it’s summer camp. The moms are doing an incredible job co-parenting (take notes, humans), and we’ve finally posted signs with each mom’s name and litter count. Two more sows are still out enjoying the sunshine, but we’re hoping for more babies soon.

FAMILY HAPPENINGS
Niko’s been up the road and up in the air, working on a new building project. We’re super proud — and extra grateful to have a carpenter in the family.
Nina’s still loving life in Delaware, turning 21 soon (send prayers), and will be home for a short time before heading back to Champaign for her senior year at UIUC.

TIME AWAY
Gus and Melissa will be off the ranch from Thursday, August 7th through Monday, August 11th to bring Nina home and squeeze in a quick trip to D.C. We’ll be back at it Tuesday, August 12th.
The ranch will still be humming along thanks to our all-star crew — Madilyn, Eliot, and their mom Melanie — who will hold down the fort on Saturday, August 9th, so YES, we will be open that day.
Heads-up: We’ll be CLOSED Labor Day weekend to sneak away to Traverse City, Michigan. So if you're planning a Labor Day BBQ, get those orders in early!

THE NEW CHICKEN HOUSE
It’s done! Well, “done enough.” The ladies are loving their new digs — free to wander the tall grasses (or nap under an RV), lay eggs in their fresh nesting boxes, and generally live their best chicken lives. Those tiny pullet eggs? Coming straight from these happy hens, and growing bigger every day.

BUNDLE BOXES: Easier. Simpler. Still Delicious.
We’ve switched to Rancher’s Choice bundle boxes, but the website will still give you a good idea of what’s inside. No need to meal plan — just order, enjoy, and maybe discover a new favorite cut you wouldn’t have picked yourself. Culinary adventure awaits.

New Life on the Ranch… and a Big Rebuild Ahead This has gone through a thousand edits because there's just so much we want to say. SPRING/RAIN/MUD...done 🐑 New Life (and Real Talk)We’ve got a brand-new baby lamb, just about a week old, and thriving. First-time mama is doing amazing, and the whole herd seems to be watching over her.Bo (our OG sheep) is still getting ready to lamb, and as of writing this… we just had TEN piglets born 🐖💥 with more on the way from two other mommas. But let's jump into the hard talk part:We lost a large portion of our sheep herd this winter. That hit us all hard, emotionally and financially. The cattle herd is also thin, meaning they aren't up to an acceptable-to-us weight to be sent to freezer camp. We won’t rush it, our cattle are pasture-raised, corn and soy-free, which means they grow slower, but better. The result is cleaner, healthier, better-tasting beef… it just takes time. 👉 No lamb available for the foreseeable future (hopefully next year)👉 Beef herd is thin → limited availability (working hard to solve this)We DO have:🍯 Honey • 🥛 Milk • 🧈 Butter • 🥓 Pork (lots of pork)• 🥚 Eggs • 🥩 Meat sticks & jerky *Working on the chicken  🎟️ RAFFLE: Help Us Rebuild (and WIN Big) This started as a celebration of our nation's 250th birthday and has become a little more urgent for us: 🎟️ $10 tickets🥩 Multiple meat prizes🥇 FREE MEAT FOR A YEAR Every ticket helps us: Restock the freezerPay for processingRebuild herds👉 Buy tickets  🐔 Eggs Are BackChickens are laying strong again → limit increased to 4 dozen/order 👉 Order eggs 📦 Order Online (This Really Helps)Ordering online helps us plan, forecast, and avoid shortages. 👉 Shop here Pro tip: Check your order before delivery/pick up.
